The Sale Soiree Delivers Street Style & More

A fashion gathering and benefit for Cystic Fibrosis
Ayoka Lucas

I love to see the retail community come together for a wonderful cause and this past week's Sale Soiree, a benefit for Cystic Fibrosis, set a high standard for such a gathering! Held at the Charleston Center for Photography, this fashion affair was packed wall-to-wall with local boutiques, designers, and of course style mavens! Not to mention, the endless goodies that were available at amazingly discounted prices was enough to make you pinch yourself! Even though the heat was a bit daunting, everything about this event was beyond cool. Watch and see the highlights of this stylishly charitable evening, check out the street style and see who won the Best Dressed contest chosen by the cutest little fashion panel in town. (I wonder what the winner is going to do with the custom design dress prize?)

Savannah's Fashion Finale
Savannah has had it’s fill with some amazing fashion events over the past few weeks. What better way to close it out than a collaboration of some of Savannah’s finest boutique’s? Last week’s final fashion show from Savannah Fashion Week included looks from Red Clover, Mint Boutique, Bleubelle, Custard, Zia, James Gunn and Terra Cotta.

The event was held at the Jepson Center where each boutique was able to showcase several looks that best represented them. Each style, ranging from a classic resort look from James Gunn and BleuBelle, to the edgy fashion of Mint Boutique and Custard, provided guests with amazing inspiration for the summer.

Each look was enhanced by the fun take on hair and makeup that was created by Color Box and See Jane.  Some of the most memorable looks were the mohawks, neon eye makeup and long feather earrings that accompanied Custard boutique’s look.  On the other hand,  Zia accentuated his models’ looks with tight buns, smokey cat eyes and tons of gold and silver accents.

With 35 models, 8 looks per store, and a DJ, guests were privy to a carnival of color, music and performance. “This was Savannah’s version of a Broadway production” noted Mitchell Hall, creative director of BleuBelle Boutique.   One of the models, Lane Attendees also enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres from the french cafe Papillote on Broughton. If you didn’t realize it by now, this event reminded everyone why we are known as the Hostess City!http://ww2.thesouthmag.com/dailies/2010/savannahs-fashion-finale/
